Chhattisgarh Indira Van Mitan Yojana: Chhattisgarh Government has launched a new scheme named CG Indira Van Mitan Yojana 2021. The new scheme is going to make forest dwellers of the state self reliant (atmanirbhar). In this scheme, the state govt. will form groups of youth in around 10,000 villages of tribal areas who would be responsible to conduct all forest based economic activities. These economic activities would create self employment opportunities for the forest dwellers.

In CG Indira Van Mitan Yojana, the state govt. will cover around 19 lakh families in scheduled areas through the youth groups. The groups formed shall also manage the trees and will collect the forest produce from the trees in forest areas. They will also arrange the purchase of forest produce to ensure right price of the forest produce.
Indira Van Mitan Yojana in Chhattisgarh
Indira Van Mitan Yojana (CG Indira Van Mitan Yojana) is a new scheme launched by the Government of Chhattisgarh, under which many works will be done for the development of forest dwellers in the state. The main objective of this new scheme of the CG government is to make the forest dwellers happy and the villages of Vananchal self-supporting in the state. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel had announced the launch of this new Indira Van Mitan Yojana on the occasion of World Tribal Day on 09 August 2020.
Under Indira Van Mitan Yojana, all forest based economic activities will be conducted by forming groups of youths in 10,000 villages of tribal areas of Chhattisgarh state. In these groups of 10 to 15 members, priority will be given to forest dwellers only. Under the scheme, Forest Produce Processing Center will also be established in each tribal development block.
Chhattisgarh government Indira Van Mitan A target has been set to connect 19 lakh families of scheduled areas under the scheme. Through this scheme, the rights of tree management will be provided to the groups so that they can take economic benefits by collecting forest produce from the trees of the forest areas.

Under this new scheme of Chhattisgarh state, arrangements for the purchase, processing and marketing of forest produce will be ensured only through the groups to be formed. Through these groups to be formed under the scheme, self-employment of forest dwellers and their prosperity will open up.
Earlier, 7 types of minor forest produce were purchased in the state of Chhattisgarh, which has now been increased to 31.

Establishment of forest produce processing centers under the scheme
Establishment of Forest Produce Processing Units
Under Indira Van Mitan Yojana, an amount of Rs. 8 crore 50 lakh will be spent for forest produce processing centers to be started in 85 development blocks of scheduled areas. About Rs 10 lakh will be given for setting up each centre.
With the help of these Processing Centers, all types of produce grown in the forest will be processed, which will have the right of selling and marketing to the groups.
