            A wing that gives a touch of technical perfection to every process relating to the District Police in the crime related works as well as investigations. The computerization in the police, as a part of the modernization of the police, has been widely accepted as it puts oil into a machine, which has been performing various functions round the clock. This wing was started in Pathanamthitta in 1995 and comes directly under the District Crime Record Bureau (DCRB). The Crime Stopper Call Cell, a 24 hrs service, which was launched in 1998, has been also attached to this Cell. The District Police Computer Cell undertakes the data processing works and technically helps for better policing. The crime related works are done in this wing as per the directions of State Crime Record Bureau (SCRB), Thiruvananthapuram and National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), New Delhi. The records of Registered foreigners and Monthly Crime Statistics are created and kept precisely. The charge-sheeted cases in all the police stations in this district are entered and communication is made possible with LAN. Thus, the Police Computer Cell plays its role quite nicely, more often being behind the scene.
